New CTA leader

The Colorado Technology Association named Brittany Morris Saunders as its new president and CEO.

Most recently, Saunders served as head of community affairs for Amazon and her work experience includes senior vice present for the Downtown Denver Partnership, where she was part of the team that developed Denver Startup Week.

“Brittany brings a dynamic leadership style and a strategic vision that aligns seamlessly with CTA’s commitment to empowering the technology community,” said Mark Fitzgerald, chair of the CTA Board of Directors, in a news release. “With a focus on fostering collaboration among industry stakeholders, Ms. Morris Saunders aims to strengthen CTA’s role as a catalyst for economic development, tech talent expansion, and technological advancements within the region.”

Saunders replaces Frannie Matthews, who announced in July she would resign as of the end of 2023 after five years in the role.

“I am honored and excited to join Colorado Technology Association at this critical juncture in the industry’s evolution,” said Morris Saunders in the release. “CTA has a rich history of championing innovation and fostering a collaborative ecosystem, and I will build upon this legacy. With the talented CTA team and Board of Directors, I look forward to driving growth, advancing technology initiatives, fostering diversity, and ensuring Colorado remains at the forefront of

the global tech landscape.”

Morris Saunders starts the new role Monday.

“Brittany has created change and innovation everywhere she has worked,” said U.S. Sen. and former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper in the release. “This is an inflection point for Colorado technology — we couldn’t ask for a better leader for CTA.”

New Goddard School in Littleton

The Goddard School opened its second location in Littleton at 6975 S. Broadway.

The 11,000-square-foot early childhood education center has 10 classrooms and can accommodate 150 children, ages six months to six years. It will have a staff of about 35 teachers.

“Our commitment is to inspire our students to foster a genuine love for learning in a nurturing, safe and supportive environment,” said Co- Owner Erin Davis in a news release. “We acknowledge the urgent need for high-quality early childhood education in our community, and we are enthusiastic about providing an exceptional educational journey for all.”

Davis, and her husband, Andrew, opened the school after being parents of Goddard students for more than eight years. Their two daughters are graduates and their son is a pre-K student.

Officials describe the curriculum like this: “The play- and inquiry-based learning experience offered at The Goddard School of Littleton uses the most current, academically endorsed methods in early childhood education to nurture the extraordinary in every child.”

New retailers at 9th & Colorado

Four new retailers have opened at the 26-acre urban infill development at 9th & Colorado, aptly named for its location on Ninth Avenue and Colorado Boulevard in Denver. The site, formerly the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center campus, was developed by Continuum Partners and CIM Group. “In just a few short years, 9+CO has become one of the preeminent communities in Denver with a variety of living options, plenty of open space and now even more retailers joining an already incredible list of businesses that call the area home,” said Frank Cannon, development director for Continuum Partners, in a news release. “We are thrilled to welcome these new tenants to 9+CO.”

The new establishments include: Skin Laundry, for laser facial treatments; Toastique, a gourmet toast and juice bar; Datura Home, which offers home accessories like houseplants and pots, jewelry and gifts; Sploot Veterinary Care, described as “modernizing the veterinary experience with warm, modern clinics, tech-powered accessibility and primary and urgent care services all under one roof.”

“When looking to expand beyond our original Central Park location, we wanted to find someplace that had a similar vibe of people living, working, and shopping in a walkable community and 9+CO was the perfect fit,” said Jonah Bradley, owner of Datura Home, in a news release.

Two more retailers are on tap to open in the first quarter of 2024: Ohm Fitness and Huntington Bancshares Inc. bank.
