Homicide isn’t usually funny, but Veep alum Richardson proves the subject can get laughs in the new murder-mystery comedy series The Afterparty (Jan 28 on Apple TV+). Richardson plays Aniq, who goes to his high school reunion to try to reconnect with his former crush (Zoë Chao) when one of the attendees is killed. Each of the eight episodes relates the events of the fateful evening from a different person’s point of view. Tiffany Haddish will play Detective Danner, the eccentric investigator assigned to solve the high-profile case. “Getting a chance to work with an allstar ensemble of the funniest people out there?” says Richardson, 38. “There was no way I could have turned it down."
