BY HANNAH METZGER The Denver Gazette

At least one person was wounded early Sunday morning after a shooting at a small house party, the Aurora Police Department said.

Police said 10 to 15 people, mostly teenagers, were partying at a house under construction at 23577 E. Fifth Place, near East Sixth Avenue and Interstate 225.

Just after 4 a.m., neighbors called to report multiple gunshots, police said. When officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting but all of the partygoers were gone. About 5:30 a.m., a woman walked into a nearby emergency room with a gunshot wound. Police said she was shot at the party. The woman is expected to survive her injuries.

It is unclear if anyone else was shot at the party. Police have not released any information about what led to the shooting. No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting. No suspect information is available.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can be anonymous and are eligible for a $2,000 reward.
