One man is in custody after allegedly stealing a vehicle with a t2-year-old child inside, police said.

Police announced that a black Jeep with Texas license plates was stolen near East 51st Avenue and Chambers Road around 1:55 p.m.

Within an hour, officers located the stolen Jeep at East 40th Avenue and Airport Way in the Gateway neighborhood. The child appeared to be unharmed but was going to be evaluated as a precaution, police said in a statement.

Initially there were no arrests made, but officers located the suspect in the area of 32nd Avenue and Chambers later Thursday.

Information regarding the suspect is unknown.
